"Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence!"

This past Saturday we took my mother out for a night on the town (of Abilene, there's nothing to do in Albany) for Mother's Day. We were going to eat at the Olive Garden, but there were many people lined up outside, sitting on the sidewalk, waiting for a table. SO! We went to Zookini's instead since it was right next door, and later went to the double feature at the drive-in theater where we saw Star Trek and Monsters Vs. Aliens.

They were both very good movies, but Star Trek was COMPLETELY AWESOME.

Everything about it was just superb. The actors, the storyline (even though I did get confused at one point because there were two Spocks), the special effects. And I can say that it was this great because I am a Trekkie, and have been so since I was a kid.

When I was a wee little Trekkie, my father and I would watch the show and the movies ALL OF THE TIME. There is no exaggeration here. My father was pretty hardcore about Star Trek (not so hardcore to, like, dress up as a Klingon for the release of a movie (that I know of)) so I was as well.

I don't remember exactly who were my favorites or why, but I know that I've always loved this guy.

CAPTAIN PICARD = LOVE

Also, Worf, the black Klingon from Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, I remember liking him. For some reason, and I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHY, I always related Worf to my Uncle David. This is not saying that my uncle looks like a Klingon or anything like that. I really don't know why I thought of David when I thought of a fictional, black Klingon whose family was wiped out by Romulans that went on to become Cheif of Security on the U.S.S. Enterprise.

UNCLE DAVID? WORF? WHAT?!

So, Uncle David, if you happen to be reading this, I just want you to know that you should take this random relation as a COMPLIMENT and in no way be offended.

Worf was cool. Worf was a Klingon. Worf reminded me of you.

Therefore:

Klingon + Cool = Worf = David

Anyway, I need to go get ready now. I'm going to Breckenridge with Melany and KaCee to rent a movie, get food, then go back to Melany's for movies. Then I'm going to leave for a bit to walk with my mom... then I'm gonna go back.

Goodbye!

P.S. I started this blog last week, but am just now posting it because of the following reasons: 1) My computer is STILL NOT FIXED. 2) I could have used the computer in the dining room, BUT I have had homework to do. 3) Even if I didn't have homework to do, I have gotten home late for the last three nights as well as this past Saturday.

I think I know why you relate me to him, could it be that we are both mostly bald? I do think that he has a better tan than I do and a WHOLE lot more WRINKLES. Just wait til I see you next weekend, and I will thank you properly!!! LOVE YOU DEARLY, UNCLE WORF
