Instagram Recap: The Rest of Summer

Tomorrow marks the start of (what might be my last) fall semester, and I am excited and also not.

On the left hand, I always get excited for school to start back. There have been classes and teachers I haven't liked, of course, and we all know the horror that was last spring semester, but as a whole, I have always enjoyed school. I am really looking forward to the English classes I am taking this semester, and to just get back into the routine of classes and papers even though the latter sucks most of the time.

On the right hand, I am taking nineteen hours this semester and eighteen next semester so that I can graduate in May as originally planned. I am going to try, at least. If after the first week, I really don't think I'll be able to handle it, I'll suck it up, drop one of the classes, and stay an extra semester. There is no harm in trying though.

My hands will be full with papers and work* regardless of what decision is made, so I'm going to use these last few hours of freedom to reminisce on the latter half of my summer.

Aside from Seattle and work, the end of my summer has consisted of running at sunset, surprising my family with a trip home, reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to Zak, spending an hour taking pictures of Melany's feet, a trip to Austin, finding my bridesmaid's dress for Mary's wedding, sitting in iHop for three hours, and so on.

It has been a pretty tough couple of weeks, if we're being honest, but in the end the good outweighs the bad. Just as it always does.

* Let me just casually mention that I got promoted yesterday.

I'm resigning myself to the fact that I'm probably just going to have to stay until Christmas, rather than finishing up in the Summer. Most of my classes are only available in the fall and if I took any in the Summer, they wouldn't be covered by scholarship, which would mean that I would basically be paying $4,000 to finish four months early. That's just dumb. I'm sad, but it is what it is and I'll still have "2013" on my diploma, which is what is important to me.

CONGRATS ON YOUR PROMOTION, HELL YEAH.

I've got a package to send to you, please text message me your address at your earliest convenience.

Love.

Good luck with the beginning of the semester! We're all going to busy bees this year for sure. I think it's wise to consider the possibility of dropping a class just in case the workload is ridiculously overwhelming, but that being said I know you have it in you.

I've probably said this a million times before and I should just shut up about it, but you write so well!

Best of luck with college! As sadistic as this might be, I can't wait to join the slaving-my butt-off-with-five classes-and-a-part-time-job club. Just a week or so more and I'm set.

CONGRATS ON YOUR PROMOTION.

Much love. <3

High five for your promotion! That's awesome!

Also, even though you have a lot going on, it sounds fun!

the good does seem to outweigh the bad, sort of.
I don't think staying an extra semester is that bad, if it's what you have to do to keep yourself sane and happy, then do it. (I'm actually doing that, because math is evil.)

also, go promotion!

Sounds like an exciting and busy time. I'm here to be your internet support team (with the rest of blogger family) during the next few semesters.

re:

I miss you too. I have not been able to keep up with tumblr at all recently so not being able to keep up with anyone's posts is making me feel out of the loop, but I guess everyone is just really busy right now. If you do send me something, please remind me to check my mailbox thingy. :)
